About Multraship

Multraship is a leading Dutch towage and salvage company, part of the Muller Maritime Group, jointly owned by the Muller Family and Hamburg based Fairplay Towage. A genuine family business, with the fourth Muller generation at the wheel, both literally and figuratively.

This heritage guarantees a stable, long-term vision with at its heart a century-long firm focus on the needs of our clients. Our loyalty and flexibility, combined with the fact that the human dimension is our basis, ensure a personal touch that leads to a long-lasting collaboration with employees, clients and partners.

We have been internationally oriented from the beginning. Short lines of communication and the ability to act quickly are our trademark – both operationally and financially – also thanks to our carefully built network in the global maritime sector. We are valued for the way we use our operational knowledge and skills to think along with our clients. In doing so, we also have the courage to say no. We know our limits, but finding a solution will always be our point of departure.

Multraship’s core activities are harbour & terminal towage, salvage, sea towage, offshore services and port services.

Multraship makes the difference.

Quality and safety above all

Multraship prides itself on operating a fleet of state-of-the-art vessels and a wide range of other advanced equipment.

We operate our vessels according to the highest quality standards. SHE-Q (safety, health, environment & quality) certification has a central place in the company's day-to-day operations. Keywords are: scheduled maintenance programmes, training schemes and formal company procedures for all operational activities. Regardless of procedure, safety always comes first. Multraship has implemented a total quality and safety management system.

Salvage

Hands-on and rock-solid

A longstanding member of the International Salvage Union, Multraship handles many salvage operations each year, involving all types of casualties, including those that require environmental care services. Multraship’s salvage teams consist of experienced salvage masters and crews who have wide experience of complex salvage and wreck removal operations. They have been responsible for the safe recovery of vessels and cargoes worth millions of dollars and for extensive action to safeguard the marine environment.

Multraship operates a large fleet of tugs, floating sheerlegs, multi-purpose vessels and rescue tenders, equipped with modern salvage and fire-fighting equipment. A range of salvage equipment, including pumps, hoses, fire-fighting equipment, patching equipment, hydraulic cranes, etc. is held both on board and in store.

Multraship has a large network of suppliers of additional equipment and services that may be required for any kind of salvage operation, such as oil spill responders, divers, (STS) discharge capacity and HazMat experts.

Readiness

Multraship is highly committed to Emergency Response Salvage, maintaining dedicated salvage stations and holding a standby agreement with the Zeeland Safety Region for the provision of fire-fighting tugs along the River Scheldt. The company holds a long-term contract with the Dutch government for the provision of Emergency Towing Services with the ETV ‘Guardian’, based in Den Helder. When wind conditions reach Beaufort 5 and above, the ETV will put to sea and make itself available to provide emergency assistance to drifting vessels or ships in distress, and to deliver life-saving services. In addition to its use as an Emergency Towing Vessel, the vessel can also be used as a platform for Search and Rescue (SAR) operations.

Offshore services

Agile and reliable

Another Multraship added-value service is the one relating to the specialised towage, anchor-handling and associated requirements of the offshore energy industry. In addition to sea towage and anchor-handling operations, Multraship tugs and multipurpose craft work as heavy lift, support, standby, supply and crew-tender vessels.

Multraship holds exclusive call-off agreements with several oil majors for rig moves/anchor-handling operations and with a major marine contractor for anchor-handling assistance during windfarm installation work, all in the North Sea area.

Multraship has also secured long-term contracts for terminal duties, fi-fi standby and oil recovery duties in several ports and offshore Angola.

Multraship is a registered member of BIMCO.

Sea Towage

Seasoned and tailor-made

Multraship has an enviable track record in sea towage operations. These specialist services are available to clients who need reliable transportation options through and beyond European waters. Sea towage services range from the transportation of all types of seagoing vessels to dredging and offshore equipment, heavy-lift barges, floating cranes and dry-docks.

Depending on specific requirements, Multraship’s specialist sea towage department can provide ongoing, reliable advice at all times, and can put in place a suitable leading tug and/or assisting tugs, as well as organise port agents and resolve local compliance issues in ports of departure and arrival. Our clients can call on an invaluable tailor-made, door-to-door service and 24-hour availability of our team of proven experts.

Multraship is a registered member of BIMCO.
